Keep The Trigger Unloaded!

We all know the reasons for dieting. Maybe we have forgotten them or they have grown dim from years of pushing them out of our mind. Let's rehash them so they are fresh in our mind and we can keep them there as we try to lose weight. Click Here!

Here goes...
* We will look better.
* We will feel better.
* It will improve our heart and our whole cardiovascular system.
* It will make our digestive system work better.
* We will have a better self-esteem!

How are we going to lose the weight. We like to eat and we love fast foods and snacks!

All the foods that are good for you, look like diet foods and taste like diet foods! Who wants to eat them? Click Here!

I know people will say eat more fruits and vegetables. That is well and good, but I have never eaten a vegetable that tastes as good as a hamburger with everything on it, including jalapenos!! I have never tasted a piece of fruit that tastes as good as Bluebell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream! I need to get OFF the hamburgers and the ice cream. Click Here!

You know, the minute I think diet, I want some Bluebell! I can see it in my mind and I want it. The urge is stronger than the one I had for a cigarette when I quit smoking 16 years ago!

Oh well, I know what to do. Know your Trigger foods and unload the Trigger! Click Here!

Here's what I plan to do...

* Clear my home of all Triggers! Throw them out.
No Bluebell
No hamburgers
No chips
No dips.

* Plan healthy alternatives for when an attack occurs.
Buy 100 calories snack packs.
Buy soup
Buy fruits
Buy veggies
Buy low-fat yogurt with fruit

* Keep a daily diary of everything I eat.

Remember this. You must burn up 3500 calories for every 1 pound you want or need to lose. These 3500 calories are over and above your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) + the number of calories you burn for all normal activities, such as sitting, standing, etc. BMR is the calories for breathing, digestion, etc.

You can find online how to figure your BMR and the calories for normal activities and then add them to the 3500 calories. Then you will have the total you must burn for the entire day.

Well, I guess I'll start adding my own. Then, I'll go buy some 100 calorie snack packs, low-fat yogurt, some soups, veggies and fruits. Click Here!

Boy, this dieting is expensive!

Guess I'll see you at the grocery store!

Walk More, Eat Less, Hug your Dogs!

It is true! If you exercise, you can eat more and not gain weight. Walking my dogs counts as exercise and it is a lot of fun to take them walking. So I decided if I walk them longer, I do not have to stick to a strict diet Click Here!to maintain my current weight. I like that idea!

My main reason for dieting is maintenance. My main reason for walking is to exercise my dogs. I plan to combine the two things. I benefit and so do my dogs.

There is a constant battle on the issue of whether dieting is better than exercising to help you lose weight or if you have to do both. Do you diet, or exercise or both? Are you losing weight? Do you want to lose weight? Click Here!

If you are trying to lose weight, there are some rules you could follow that will help you drop the pounds, did you know that? Would you like to know the rules?

O.K. Here are 5 RULES to help you follow your DIET: Click Here!

*#1 Eat breakfast.
Do not skip it! It will help you eat less the rest of the day.

*#2 Eat only when you are hungry.
Do not just sit, chips in hand and feed your face. Mindless eating can add a lot of calories to your daily food intake and you will not even be aware of it!

*#3 Stop eating when you get full.
You do not have to eat everything that is put in front of you are served on your plate! Stop when you get full.

*#4 Avoid fast food.
Fast food is all the foods we love. Usually it is fried food, tastes great, and full of calories. It is best to avoid this food period. It does nothing but cause you to overeat and pack in the calories which leads to weight gain!

*#5 Watch the snacks.
Make sure you choose healthy snacks. Reach for the fruits and the veggies. Avoid snacks high in sugar and carbohydrates if you want to lose weight.

Better yet, if you want to lose weight, get up and take the dogs for a walk and avoid the snacks all together! You can join me and my dogs on the walking path in the park beside my high rise apartment building! Click Here!

So I'll see on the walking path. God Bless!

What a Way To Walk!

Today looks like rain but it does not matter my dogs have to go outside raining or not. They have to go to the restroom! I walk my dogs 4 days per week so I can keep my girlish figure and they can stay fit! As you know we live in a high rise apartment and there is no place to get exercise if I don’t take them outside for a walk in the park. Click Here!Well, I thought about walking up and down the stairs, but my dogs don’t do well on the stairs. They need to go outside to use the bathroom anyway. Plus this is Memorial Day weekend and we wanted to see the memorial service in the park today, so there was no way to get out of going. Besides I wanted to go as bad as the dogs did!
Click Here!

Walking the dogs is a fun way to walk and I lose weight faster because I have to run to keep up with them. Plus, in order to go walking I have to carry a bag with water, dog treats, bowls for them to drink out of, and pooper scooper and bags. It is like packing for a trip and we are only going to go to the park outside our apartment building. Click Here!
This daily walking of the dogs has speeded up my metabolism and I know I have lost 3 pounds. Since I have lost some weight I am really getting into this and I have started eating healthy. Click Here!Here is a copy of what I eat on a daily basis:
* Breakfast is protein. Either a boiled, poached, or scrambled egg. 1 piece of wheat toast, no butter, and a cup of black coffee.
* Snack time is a piece of fruit. My favorite is banana, but it cannot have any freckles on it because then it has too much sugar in it for my diet.
* Lunch time can be soup, no crackers, or steamed or raw veggies, a salad with low fat or no fat dressing, or tuna with mustard, a dill pickle, a slice of onion, 1 piece of wheat toast or bread, tea no sugar. I do use Truvia in my tea. It’s a natural sugar, you know.
* Snack time is a piece of fruit.
* Dinner time is something from the same list of foods I can have for lunch.
* Snack time before bed is usually Jell-O, the non sugar or diet Jell-O. boy is it good.

I drink lots of water all day long and you should too! Click Here!Well, now you know what I eat and what I do for fun and I know nothing about you. But my dogs and I will be on the lookout for you if you ever take a walk in our park! Click Here!
Take care and I hope we meet in the park one day.

Keeping Fit - Me and My Dogs!

It is not easy to keep fit today. If you live in a high rise apartment building like me, there are not many outside activities. I ride the elevator to the 35th floor, get off the elevator and go to the park one block away and walk my dogs. Click Here!
I know walking is the best exercise I can get. If it is good for me, it is good for my dogs. I have them on a chicken diet, you know. I do not think dogs are affected by such things as high blood pressure. However, I know people are and exercise is one of the best ways to get it down and keep it down!

Now dogs are good for people to have around them and I have heard petting your dogs helps lower your blood pressure. There are so many things caused by high blood pressure. I cannot afford to have mine be high. Click Here!
What would happen to my dogs?

Do you know the complications of high blood pressure? There are so many of them. Let me think. There is heart disease, heart attacks, heart failure, kidney failure, a stroke, and many more. Doctors recommend we exercise, eat healthy, eat less salt, drink plenty of water, check our blood pressure often, and exercise some more. Click Here!

We do not exercise enough anymore. Everywhere we go is by car, bus, ore taxi. We depend on machines to do everything for us nowadays and it has resulted in our gaining weight and being susceptible to more diseases and health conditions. We cannot be lazy any more if we are to survive to a ripe old age and be healthy!

I do not want to think about it any more. I am taking my dogs for a walk and I think we will walk an extra two times around the park. Click Here!

So, happy walking to you and yours. Perhaps we will meet one day on the walking path!

Out For A Stroll

All my adult life I have had high blood pressure. I never even knew it. I went to the doctor one time with a headache, he took my blood pressure, and told me I had high blood pressure.Click Here!
Ususally that is the way it is discovered. You do not have warnings that signal you that you have high blood pressure. It is called the silent killer for that reason. You could be dead before you know you have high blood pressure. This is not something to fool around with or to take lightly.

There are many known medical problems associated with high blood pressure. So when the doctor discovers you have it, he will run a sereies of tests, monitor your blood pressure and decide what to do about it. This is not something to play around with. It can cause heart attacks, strokes, etc. Click Here!

Things you can do to help control your blood pressure are...
* Walk and exercise.
* Omit salt from your diet.
* Eat a healthy diet.
* Drink lots of water.
* Exercise.

I decided I would walk my dogs and get my exercise. I intend to watch my weight as well, but walking will certainly help. Walking my dogs is a lot of exercise. One dog, Buddy walks perfect right by my side and Bandit walks where he pleases! I think I will get a lot of exercise. I'll probably be well by morning! Click Here!

Perhaps we will meet on the dog trails! Happy walking.
