Do You Need to Lose Weight? Here are 5 Tips to Help You Lose!

How many New Year's Resolutions did you make for 2009? I bet one of them was the resolution to lose weight! Click Here!

Every year people vow to start the New Year off right by making a New Year's resolution to lose weight. They vow this will be the year they take off the weight and keep it off! If you made a similar resolution this last New Year's Eve, then you need to keep reading.

Read and learn my friend! These five (5) tips will help you lose weight as you follow a healthy diet to lose weight this year. So read and use these tips and you can eat, drink and be merry as you get thinner this year. Click Here!

1. Drink lots of water.
Water is essential to everyone, especially as you try to lose weight. If you have not been drinking enough water, then your body will store water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.

By drinking more water, you flush out toxins, and your body will realize it is getting enough water and has no need to store more. You should drink at least 60 ounces, about 8 glasses, per day. You can boil the water with sliced lemons and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. Click Here!

2. Eat soup for weight loss.
Eat at least one bowl of soup daily to help you lose more weight. Nutritious, low salt soups will also help flush waste from your body. People who eat a bowl of soup daily lose more weight than those who do not eat soup. If you can eat homemade soup there is even a greater benefit. Homemade soup has less salt and chemicals than canned soup.

3. Eat early to keep your weight off.
The same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than those eaten at dinner. Studies have shown when you eat protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight faster and have more energy. The same foods eaten at dinner tend to pack on the pounds. If at all possible you should eat by 6:00 PM. Click Here!

4. Eat frequent and eat smaller meals.
Follow an eating plan that schedules 5 smaller meals over the course of the day. This seems to keep you from getting famished and helps you avoid overeating at your next meal. Keep raw vegetables and a low fat trail mix available at all times so you will not reach for those high calorie snacks. Click Here!

5. Move! Get off the couch and start moving!
The number one cause of weight gain is inactivity! You have to get up off the couch and start moving. Move those feet as you go down the street! Exercise is the key to losing weight and keeping it off!

Whenever you go to the store, park away from the front door and walk into the store. If you go into a building that has stairs, take advantage of the stairs and walk up them. When you take your break at work, walk around the building. Get moving! Click Here!

The answer to losing weight and keeping it off is walking! Click Here!

Happy Walking!

Stay alive!

Thin Versus Fat! I Want Thin!

One morning I woke up FAT! I want to wake up THIN like I used to be. I do not know when I started gaining weight but it seems like one day I realized I was fat. I never knew my eating was out of control until I was fat! Click Here!

I needed major overhaul! I needed a diet plan that worked and I needed it fast! Click Here!

That was 20 years ago and I am still fat! I have lost weight only to regain it. I have exercised and dieted. I have gone to Weight watchers. I have taken diet pills after diet pills. Everything I did only caused temporary weight loss. Then I ended up gaining more weight than I lost and I ended up fatter than I was before. Click Here!

Besides the weight gain, I ended up with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, unstable blood sugar levels, and metabolic syndrome! I am in worse shape than ever before. Doctors will not give me pills to help me lose weight and my eating is completely out of control!

Are you in the same predicament that I am? Are you overweight with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, etc.? Every year do you make a New Year's resolution to get control of your weight by dieting and losing weight? Do you end up falling off the diet a couple of weeks into the New Year? Click Here!

If this sounds like you, then perhaps you could use and appreciate these ideas I found for losing weight and getting healthier as well as thinner! In case you are interested, here goes… Click Here!

Get off the Sugar!
Stop the soda, the candy, the sweet tea, the cereals. Stop eating or drinking foods full of sugar.

Move More!
Come on get up off that couch. Dance, exercise, go walking, anything but laying on the couch all day.

Fill up on Fiber!
Fiber makes you full longer and it is good for you. Eat foods rich in fiber!

Think Sneakers not Snickers or any kind of Snack!
If you always take a cookie break, for example, take a walk instead!

Patrol your Portions! Make sure the portion size is correct.
Half a baseball equals a serving of pasta, a checkbook equals a serving of fish and a CD equals the size of an ideal waffle. Click Here!

Fill up on soup! You get a lot of volume for less calories.
Minestrone, chicken noodle or split pea soups are examples of kind of soups to eat. Have a cup before a meal so you feel fuller on less calories.

Identify your weak spots!
Be prepared so your favorite weakness will not create a problem for you. If for example, ice cream is your weakness, and you cannot eat just s spoonful, then do not keep it in the house. Go out and have a small cone of ice cream instead of buying a half gallon to put in the freezer. If it is not available you cannot sit down and eat it.

Set nonweight goals!
For instance set a goal like I will walk 20 minutes 4 days per week instead of making your goal of eating 4 fruits and 4 vegetables every day.

Liberate yourself from Food period!
I liked this idea even though it is rather drastic. Stop eating food altogether for 12 weeks (3 Months) and drink healthy protein shakes instead. A shake for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks allows you to quit thinking about food and food choices. You can liberate yourself from food. Then you have time to think about what you have been eating and why! You can focus on your unhealthy eating patterns and plan your changes when you start adding food back to your diet! Click Here!

Anyone deciding to follow this plan needs to check with their doctor first and have regular follow ups with the doctor to make sure everything is o.k.

There you have the tips I have gathered for you. But remember this: 90% of dieters regain their weight in five years. So make your plan for the rest of your life! Make sure you have a diet plan you can live by not just get thin by! Click Here!

So until next time this is my message to you: Eat to Live not Live to Eat!

God Bless!

I have ten (10) tips that I follow when I want to lose weight. Here they are:
* (1) Drink lots of water or calorie free beverages.
* (2) Eat more fruits and vegetables.

* (5) Eat and enjoy your favorite foods occasionally.
* (6) Enjoy you treats away from your home.
* (7) Make sure you eat protein at every meal.
* (8) Eat several small meals instead of 3 large meals.
* (9) Spice up your food with jalapenos, picante sauce, etc.
* (10) Rid your pantry of all junk foods. Stock up with healthy ones.
* (11) Exercise! (You know you could not exclude this one!)

We have heard everyone of these tips before. It is simply a list of the same tips. But these tips are tried and true. What that means is they work. Take the tips and do what they say and you will lose weight! Click Here!

Drink lots of water or calorie free drinks. They help fill you up not out! The more you drink the less you eat. When you eat less, you lose weight! So drink, drink, drink!

Everyone says eat more fruits and veggies. The way to weight loss is to eat fruits and veggies. Stop eating carbs, especially simple carbs, and et fruits and veggies!

Take the time to quiz yourself. Ask yourself if you are really hungry. Are you eating just to be eating or are your hungry? I have heard people say to ask yourself if you are really hungry, wait 20 minutes to see if you are still hungry, then eat it. Make sure you are hungry! Click Here!

Whatever you eat before you go to bed can last longer than 24 hours. It can fill you out not up. Often we sit and watch television and stuff food into our mouths without even thinking. This kind of mindless eating can pack on the pounds!

Occasionally you have to eat your favorite foods! Go out to eat them. If you do not eat some in moderation every once in a while, you will begin to feel deprived and end up binge eating!

Just like you eat your favorite foods away from home, you should enjoy a treat every once in awhile so you do not feel deprived. When that happens you start feeling sorry for yourself and there goes the diet! Click Here!

Eat protein at every meal. It helps feel you up and you feel satisfied! Dieters who eat protein have potential for greater weight loss than those who do not. Click Here!

Eat several mini meals throughout the day instead of 3 large meals. Dieters who do this fill up faster and have the potential for lots of weight loss. The smaller meals help you control your weight.

Stock your pantry with healthy foods. Statistics prove those dieters who have healthy foods readily at hand tend to grab the healthy foods and this helps them gain control of their appetite so they do not over eat or they do not pig out on junk foods. Click Here!

Last but not least is Exercise. You need exercise to lose weight. It helps you use excess energy and you sleep better at night. You will gain more energy by exercising!

Keep The Trigger Unloaded!

We all know the reasons for dieting. Maybe we have forgotten them or they have grown dim from years of pushing them out of our mind. Let's rehash them so they are fresh in our mind and we can keep them there as we try to lose weight. Click Here!

Here goes...
* We will look better.
* We will feel better.
* It will improve our heart and our whole cardiovascular system.
* It will make our digestive system work better.
* We will have a better self-esteem!

How are we going to lose the weight. We like to eat and we love fast foods and snacks!

All the foods that are good for you, look like diet foods and taste like diet foods! Who wants to eat them? Click Here!

I know people will say eat more fruits and vegetables. That is well and good, but I have never eaten a vegetable that tastes as good as a hamburger with everything on it, including jalapenos!! I have never tasted a piece of fruit that tastes as good as Bluebell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream! I need to get OFF the hamburgers and the ice cream. Click Here!

You know, the minute I think diet, I want some Bluebell! I can see it in my mind and I want it. The urge is stronger than the one I had for a cigarette when I quit smoking 16 years ago!

Oh well, I know what to do. Know your Trigger foods and unload the Trigger! Click Here!

Here's what I plan to do...

* Clear my home of all Triggers! Throw them out.
No Bluebell
No hamburgers
No chips
No dips.

* Plan healthy alternatives for when an attack occurs.
Buy 100 calories snack packs.
Buy soup
Buy fruits
Buy veggies
Buy low-fat yogurt with fruit

* Keep a daily diary of everything I eat.

Remember this. You must burn up 3500 calories for every 1 pound you want or need to lose. These 3500 calories are over and above your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) + the number of calories you burn for all normal activities, such as sitting, standing, etc. BMR is the calories for breathing, digestion, etc.

You can find online how to figure your BMR and the calories for normal activities and then add them to the 3500 calories. Then you will have the total you must burn for the entire day.

Well, I guess I'll start adding my own. Then, I'll go buy some 100 calorie snack packs, low-fat yogurt, some soups, veggies and fruits. Click Here!

Boy, this dieting is expensive!

Guess I'll see you at the grocery store!

Walk More, Eat Less, Hug your Dogs!

It is true! If you exercise, you can eat more and not gain weight. Walking my dogs counts as exercise and it is a lot of fun to take them walking. So I decided if I walk them longer, I do not have to stick to a strict diet Click Here!to maintain my current weight. I like that idea!

My main reason for dieting is maintenance. My main reason for walking is to exercise my dogs. I plan to combine the two things. I benefit and so do my dogs.

There is a constant battle on the issue of whether dieting is better than exercising to help you lose weight or if you have to do both. Do you diet, or exercise or both? Are you losing weight? Do you want to lose weight? Click Here!

If you are trying to lose weight, there are some rules you could follow that will help you drop the pounds, did you know that? Would you like to know the rules?

O.K. Here are 5 RULES to help you follow your DIET: Click Here!

*#1 Eat breakfast.
Do not skip it! It will help you eat less the rest of the day.

*#2 Eat only when you are hungry.
Do not just sit, chips in hand and feed your face. Mindless eating can add a lot of calories to your daily food intake and you will not even be aware of it!

*#3 Stop eating when you get full.
You do not have to eat everything that is put in front of you are served on your plate! Stop when you get full.

*#4 Avoid fast food.
Fast food is all the foods we love. Usually it is fried food, tastes great, and full of calories. It is best to avoid this food period. It does nothing but cause you to overeat and pack in the calories which leads to weight gain!

*#5 Watch the snacks.
Make sure you choose healthy snacks. Reach for the fruits and the veggies. Avoid snacks high in sugar and carbohydrates if you want to lose weight.

Better yet, if you want to lose weight, get up and take the dogs for a walk and avoid the snacks all together! You can join me and my dogs on the walking path in the park beside my high rise apartment building! Click Here!

So I'll see on the walking path. God Bless!

What a Way To Walk!

Today looks like rain but it does not matter my dogs have to go outside raining or not. They have to go to the restroom! I walk my dogs 4 days per week so I can keep my girlish figure and they can stay fit! As you know we live in a high rise apartment and there is no place to get exercise if I don’t take them outside for a walk in the park. Click Here!Well, I thought about walking up and down the stairs, but my dogs don’t do well on the stairs. They need to go outside to use the bathroom anyway. Plus this is Memorial Day weekend and we wanted to see the memorial service in the park today, so there was no way to get out of going. Besides I wanted to go as bad as the dogs did!

Walking the dogs is a fun way to walk and I lose weight faster because I have to run to keep up with them. Plus, in order to go walking I have to carry a bag with water, dog treats, bowls for them to drink out of, and pooper scooper and bags. It is like packing for a trip and we are only going to go to the park outside our apartment building. Click Here!
This daily walking of the dogs has speeded up my metabolism and I know I have lost 3 pounds. Since I have lost some weight I am really getting into this and I have started eating healthy. Click Here! Here is a copy of what I eat on a daily basis:
* Breakfast is protein. Either a boiled, poached, or scrambled egg. 1 piece of wheat toast, no butter, and a cup of black coffee.
* Snack time is a piece of fruit. My favorite is banana, but it cannot have any freckles on it because then it has too much sugar in it for my diet.
* Lunch time can be soup, no crackers, or steamed or raw veggies, a salad with low fat or no fat dressing, or tuna with mustard, a dill pickle, a slice of onion, 1 piece of wheat toast or bread, tea no sugar. I do use Truvia in my tea. It’s a natural sugar, you know.
* Snack time is a piece of fruit.
* Dinner time is something from the same list of foods I can have for lunch.
* Snack time before bed is usually Jell-O, the non sugar or diet Jell-O. boy is it good.

I drink lots of water all day long and you should too! Click Here!Well, now you know what I eat and what I do for fun and I know nothing about you. But my dogs and I will be on the lookout for you if you ever take a walk in our park! Click Here!
Take care and I hope we meet in the park one day.

Keeping Fit - Me and My Dogs!

It is not easy to keep fit today. If you live in a high rise apartment building like me, there are not many outside activities. I ride the elevator to the 35th floor, get off the elevator and go to the park one block away and walk my dogs. Click Here!
I know walking is the best exercise I can get. If it is good for me, it is good for my dogs. I have them on a chicken diet, you know. I do not think dogs are affected by such things as high blood pressure. However, I know people are and exercise is one of the best ways to get it down and keep it down!

Now dogs are good for people to have around them and I have heard petting your dogs helps lower your blood pressure. There are so many things caused by high blood pressure. I cannot afford to have mine be high. Click Here!
What would happen to my dogs?

Do you know the complications of high blood pressure? There are so many of them. Let me think. There is heart disease, heart attacks, heart failure, kidney failure, a stroke, and many more. Doctors recommend we exercise, eat healthy, eat less salt, drink plenty of water, check our blood pressure often, and exercise some more. Click Here!

We do not exercise enough anymore. Everywhere we go is by car, bus, ore taxi. We depend on machines to do everything for us nowadays and it has resulted in our gaining weight and being susceptible to more diseases and health conditions. We cannot be lazy any more if we are to survive to a ripe old age and be healthy!

I do not want to think about it any more. I am taking my dogs for a walk and I think we will walk an extra two times around the park. Click Here!

So, happy walking to you and yours. Perhaps we will meet one day on the walking path!
